Tuesday Night Jam Session

We had the first of many, Streets of Venice Tuesday Night Jam Sessions. Led by Eddie Reategui, who brought with him the folks from Scum Skateboards. The owner of Scum, Cholo and team rider Screech ripped up the ramp. The evening was complete after a few more holes were added to the walls.

Number One with a Bullet

We now have the Bullet LK Black/White Tie-Dye on our shelves at SOV. This is Lizard King's first pro model shoe. It features a new lightweight cupsole with one piece toe cap and vulcanized outsole making it perfect to skate in. For more from the King check out the 5 W's on the Supra website http://suprafootwear.com/blog/2010/05/10/five-ws-lizard-king/.

The Art Institute Demo

Eddie Reategui did a demo for The Art Institute of California in Orange County. The best shots were taken by Eddie on his board, checking out the scene.

Big Secret

We have a secret at SOV, that we can't share just yet. But, fans of Young and Reckless need to stay tuned. A major announcement between Streets of Venice and Young and Reckless is coming...

Doug Smith

Legendary Artist Doug Smith was in the shop. Smith is known for his creations during the infamous '70s and '80s era for Z-Flex and Venice and Santa Monica Z culture. From skateboard graphics to his original murals on the walls of the Venice Pit, Smith's work continues to be unique and an invaluable part of the LA urban art community. In the next few weeks, Smith will be adding some art to the walls of SOV. Also, be looking for collaboration projects between us and Smith. It doesn't get any more Venice than this, Smith wrote the following words before he left:

Yes we kill
First SK8 Boarders
First Punk Rockers
First Tatoo Artist
First Sk8 Board Artist

Juice Magazine
